18 months of dedicated research/elective time
- 12 months required research, 6 months elective time can be used for research
- 12-month block is in the second year
Research Mentorship:
- Meet with faculty at start of fellowship to discuss interests and opportunities
- Regular meetings with your research mentors
- Q6 month evaluation meetings regarding process
Research Timeline
- Pick several projects initially
- Thesis presentation at Husky Day in Fall of 3rd year
- Written thesis manuscript and defense by Spring 3rd year in ABOG format
- Defend thesis at ABOG oral REI exam
- Expectation is publication of thesis
- Required QI project is also an opportunity for publication
