Vacation & Sick Leave
Fellows receive four weeks of vacation (20 weekdays, 8 weekend days) at all levels of training. Vacation does not carry over to the next academic year.
Sick leave accumulates at the rate of one day per month and carries over into the next academic year.
Insurance
Fellows are eligible for health, dental, and life insurance. Dependent coverage is available at low rates. A brief summary of benefits for residents and fellows can be found here.
Professional Liability (Malpractice Insurance)
The University of Washington Medical Center and all affiliated hospitals provide professional liability insurance coverage for activities which are an integral part of the training program conducted in properly accredited settings.
Board Exams
Fellows are permitted to take their ABOG specialty certifying oral “general ObGyn” exam during fellowship. Third year fellows are expected to take the ABOG subspeciality qualifying “written MFM” exam at the conclusion of fellowship.
