Mission

We conduct clinical, epidemiologic, and translational research to improve the lives of women with reproductive endocrine conditions.  Our work focuses on mitigating the impact of distress related to infertility, menopause, puberty, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, and polycystic ovarian syndrome, and understanding the factors that cause these conditions so that we may target physiologic pathways with our interventions. We support the reproductive autonomy of individuals and expanding access to quality reproductive health services. Through our research, we strive to generate high-impact science and promote health equity and justice with the goal of improving the lives and health of women and their families around the world.

Notable Achievements

  • Evaluated the KNDy neuron complex in the hypothalamus. Manipulating this neuron complex holds great promise for amelioration of menopausal symptoms.
  • Established that IVM oocytes are deficient in glutathione and identified a novel supplement to increase oocyte glutathione levels, promote normal fertilization and improve embryo development.
  • Generated employed gene-editing strategies to develop FMR1 knock-out ESC lines as a cellular model of Fragile-X disorders
