Faculty Development
Faculty Development Workshops are held each autumn and spring for faculty and clinical faculty representatives from all sites working with students and residents. These workshops are co-sponsored by the UW Dean of Medicine.
The focus is on:
- Feedback in teaching
- Developing teaching skills
- Suggestions for clerkship improvement
- Updates in medical education
- Meeting and sharing information
- Computer updates
- Introducing new faculty who present their research interests or new developments in clinical medicine

Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23)
As one of the National Institutes of Health Research Career Awards, the Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) is a mentored career award for individuals that provides salary and limited research support to clinicians who require a period of intensive mentored research experience to become independent investigators. The K23 is limited to patient-oriented research.
Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award (K08)
This is an NIH-funded mentored career award for individuals supporting any type of research in the Reproductive Sciences Branch mission. The Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award (K08) is designed specifically for applicants proposing to serve as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or a separate ancillary clinical trial, as part of their research and career development.
