UW ObGyn faculty provided care and delivery for conjoined twin survivor

Drs. Edith Cheng, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division Chief, and Nick Burns, MFM Fellow, provided care and delivery for Charity Lincoln Gutierrez Vasquez. Gutierrez Vasquez was born conjoined with her twin at UW Medicine in 2000 & they were surgically separated at 7 months at Seattle Children's. On Aug. 12 Charity gave birth to daughter Alora at UWMC.

Team members at delivery included UW Department of Urology, UW Department of Surgery, UW Division of Plastic Surgery, UW Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, and UW Department of Pediatrics. We appreciate the multidisciplinary approach!
