Dr. Jennifer Chin, Assistant Professor in our Division of Complex Family Planning, was first author on "A Trauma-informed Care Curriculum for Perinatal Providers, Staff, and Learners", recently published in MedEd Portal alongside Associate Professor Lauren Owens, MD, MPH.

Why did you choose to write about this topic?

Trauma is highly prevalent in our community and in the patients we serve, and our patients deserve compassionate, trauma informed/survivor centered care.

What do you consider the biggest takeaway from this paper?

This builds off of the workshop series Drs. Owens, Burke, Zhang, Green, and I gave for our department and provides specific educational tools to teach others about survivor centered care specifically for perinatal patients.

What do you see as the potential impact of this work?

I hope that this inspires and teaches others on a national level how to provide survivor-centered care for all patients.
