In the setting of a terrifying and underrecognized rise in anti-Asian violence across the US, eight people were murdered in Georgia this week, including six Asian women.

The UW Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology stands in solidarity with those calling for and working towards eliminating racism, misogyny, white supremacy, and the hatred and violence that occurs at these intersections.

We stand firmly with our staff, trainees, faculty and patients of Asian American and Pacific 'Islander descent during these difficult times.

We acknowledge that we must all speak out against hate and violence to uphold our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and our mission to provide equitable and just obstetrics and gynecology care for all.
