Overview
Our Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility program is ABOG certified and is initially accredited by ACGME. We will welcome one new fellow each year and fellows will be completing a total of three years of REI fellowship training.
Mission
Our faculty are dedicated to providing access to the best healthcare for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility patients as well as excellent education in REI for UW Medicine and the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho). We work to be national leaders in research and provide high quality patient-centered care and we aim to train reproductive endocrinologists who will be leaders in patient care, research, surgical expertise, innovative REI therapies and education.
Diversity
Our institution and department is committed to the recruitment, retention and advancement of faculty and trainees from groups under-represented in medicine and to an inclusive and equitable environment.
In the past two years, we have formally created an Ob/Gyn Equity Diversity and Inclusion committee with faculty, fellow, and resident representation which has grown with volunteers and renewed interest / organized activities. We have increased the number of speakers invited to specifically present research on health disparity for grand rounds and trainee lectures. We have two funded OBGYN sub-internship positions for minority candidates.
UW Medicine has sponsored a Network of Underrepresented Residents and Fellows (NURF) organization since 2010 with support from GME and Center for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (CEDI). We are participating in UW GME events co-sponsored by NURF (the Network for Underrepresented Residents and Fellows) to hold a series of digital open houses for URM applicants interested in learning more about our program.
Our program leadership is highly motivated to improve recruitment and longitudinal support of trainees from groups underrepresented
in medicine (URM) and to promote an inclusive and equitable work environment modeled by faculty and staff.
