What do you like to do in your free-time?

I enjoy running, gardening and spending time with her family during her free-time.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in academic medicine at UW?

I chose to work in academic medicine as it offers the unique opportunity to be actively involved in education, research and clinical care simultaneously.

What is one professional or academic accomplishment of which you are most proud and why?

I was proud to be an integral contributor of a research team, and being first author on a serious of papers that were published in high impact journals. This work influenced the management of labor and delivery in an effort to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Be truthful to yourself and others.

What is one thing that brings you joy, either inside or outside of work?

I love spending time with my family. Our inquisitive daughter and two dogs constantly keep us on our toe, and are full of entertainment.

What inspires you?

My father inspires me to always persevere, and make what seems improbable possible.

When do you feel the most impactful?

I feel most impactful when my (work and family) team and I march forward in sync.
