What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?
I enjoy cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in academic medicine at UW?
After a childhood trip to a museum exhibit about fetal development, I became fascinated by pregnancy, which has never waned. This interest led me to the field of maternal-fetal medicine, which allows me to care for women and families while planning for a pregnancy and during pregnancy and postpartum. I've been fortunate to work with many amazing families throughout my years as a physician and really value the time spent with families to navigate a healthy pregnancy and postpartum.
What do you like about working at UW Medicine?
I enjoy working at UW Medicine because of the people. We have incredible care providers in all the different specialties and I love working together to make the best care plan possible for our patients. The training environment, with medical students, residents, and fellows also allows for lifelong learning and improvement in knowledge and care.
What are your favorite things about living in the Seattle area?
Growing up on the East Coast I thought I would return to the East Coast after my medical training, but I fell in love with Seattle and decided to stay. Seattle is a wonderful city with such natural beauty and great access to outdoor activities. The food in Seattle also is great
