Personal Interests:

When not working, I can be found hiking Seattle parks to keep my Australian Shepherd happy, trying to parent my five kids and carving out time to savor the simple joys of food and family.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in OB/GYN?

I decided to become a midwife because, at its core, midwifery is about helping people be informed and be active participants in their health. It is about being a feminist and trusting women. I enjoy supporting women to make choices that are right for them and to help them to pursue optimal health.

What do you like about working at UW Medicine?

I am proud of UW's commitment to inclusion and patient-centered care. I also value working at an institution that is engaged in research and committed to practicing the most current, evidence-based medicine.
