Biography

Salomeh (Sally) Salari, MD MS FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and fellowship-trained/board eligible reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist. In addition to fertility treatment, she specializes in reproductive surgery.

Dr. Salari takes a holistic, partnership-based approach to care. She prioritizes establishing real connections with her patients and empowering them with the knowledge and options they need to make confident, informed decisions about their own care.

Dr. Salari's clinical expertise include infertility treatment and reproductive surgery for gynecologic conditions such as: fibroids; polyps; endometriosis; Asherman's syndrome (uterine scarring); congenital anomalies of the uterus, cervix, and vagina.

What do you like to do in your free-time?

I enjoy being outdoors/hiking, baking and cooking, reading, and most importantly spending time with my husband, daughter, and dog.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in academic medicine at UW?

I choose to work in academic medicine because I believe the best patient care is grounded in high-quality research and rigorous evidence. I am also particularly passionate about teaching, and being in academic medicine allows me to help train the next generation of providers.

What is one professional or academic accomplishment of which you are most proud and why?

I applied for and received a grant from ASRM/SREI to fund my fellowship research thesis project.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Stay humble. No matter how much you know, medicine and patients will always have something to teach you.

What is one thing that brings you joy, either inside or outside of work?

Watching my young daughter joyfully discover the world around her, and helping patients on their fertility journeys so they can one day soon do the same.

What inspires you?

My parents who are immigrants and a true example of the classic American Dream, my husband who makes me a better person, and my daughter from whom I've already learned so much and hope to be able to teach just as much.

When do you feel the most impactful?

I feel I am most impactful when I think outside the box to come up with creative solutions that are not only evidence-based, but are also realistic and practical for my patients.
