Why did you decide to pursue a career in OBGYN?

The ability to diagnose and treat fetal conditions before birth captured my interest early in my training. I left my home country, Germany, to do a three year fellowship in Fetal Surgery at UCSF and then decided to complete my training at UW. The opportunity to support families through a very challenging time in their lives and make a real difference in outcomes remains rewarding every single day.

What do you like about working at UW Medicine?

I am excited to expand the capabilities of the fetal therapy program through our collaboration with UW Medicine.

What are your favorite things about living in the Seattle area?

The natural beauty of the Seattle area is unsurpassed! My favorite thing is spring skiing followed by a bike ride - all in the same day.

What inspires you?

The relationship we get to build with families inspires me!
