Why did you decide to pursue a career in OBGYN?

Women's health has always generated interest in me. I decided to pursue a career in OBGYN as I loved the blend of medicine and surgery included with this specialty. Management of a wide array of health conditions from child birth to menopause of woman, and the continuity of care has always been rewarding. Gynecology oncology is unique as it provides a strong platform based on strong education strategies and evidence based medicine. The specialty allows me to serve patients with empathy, and support their choices specific to the management plan. In untreatable clinical conditions, the reassurance I provide them by giving my best gives a lot of contentment and motivation.

What do you like about working at UW Medicine?

I love the integrated approach to evidence based medicine, ability to pursue ongoing research based trials to drive new advancements in clinical medicine, and collaboration with a team of clinical experts with profound experience. The great opportunity to serve patients from diverse cultures inspires me to work with the unique community at UW.

What are your favorite things about living in the Seattle area?

I love the mountains, and I enjoy hiking, travelling, and spending time with my family outdoors.

What inspires you?

My patients inspire me. They keep me motivated by helping me learn every single day. I feel encouraged to come to work to empower my patients to help them make decisions in their management. Education is exciting to me and I believe in open communication about treatment options and help women to choose plans that will deliver the best result. In cases of challenging diagnosis, I feel strengthened to provide my best care for the trust the patients have in us and as part of combined decision making , help them have the best care to reduce their pain.
