What do you like to do in your free-time?

Outside of medicine, I’m a lifelong reader, avid gardener, and visual artist who enjoys watercolor painting. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and caring for my rescue cat. As a certified Zentangle teacher, I share meditative drawing techniques with residents and students to promote mindfulness and well-being.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in academic medicine at UW?

I was drawn to UW for its national leadership in academic medicine and its deep commitment to equity, innovation, and service. Academic medicine allows me to integrate my passions for teaching, reproductive health advocacy, and complex patient care—while also championing wellness for both learners and colleagues. UW’s mission-driven community aligns with my values and supports the work I care most deeply about.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is that no one looks back wishing they’d spent more time answering emails. A well-rounded life—with books, paint, family, travel, everyday adventures, and one very opinionated rescue cat—is far more satisfying.

What is one thing that brings you joy, either inside or outside of work?

Creating art brings me joy. It’s a space where I feel present, curious, and fully myself.

What inspires you?

My mom inspires me. As a single parent, she put herself through law school while I was in high school, went on to build a long career as a prosecutor and state assistant attorney general, and now advocates for youth as a public defender, often standing up for those who have no one else on their side. Her resilience and sense of justice continue to guide me

When do you feel the most impactful?

I feel most impactful when I can guide a patient or family through a difficult diagnosis with clarity and compassion, especially when their voices have been overlooked elsewhere.

What are your clinical interests?

Prenatal diagnosis, Obstetric Ultrasound, Autoimmune disease in pregnancy, and Fetal therapy.
