Why did you decide to pursue a career in academic medicine at UW?
I chose to join to UW because of the incredible network of subspecialty teams that allows me to provide seamless care for pregnancies with complex fetal conditions.
What is one professional or academic accomplishment of which you are most proud and why?
I have had the opportunity to train colleagues internationally and help them start their respective programs. For example, I flew to Jamaica to mentor the local team through their first intrauterine transfusion - which was smooth and successful.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
If you don't ask, the answer is always "no".
What is one thing that brings you joy, either inside or outside of work?
Spending time in nature with my family is the best - rafting the Grand Canyon is one of my favorite memories.
What inspires you?
My young adult children who are pursuing their goals and dreams inspire me to keep growing and pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible.
When do you feel the most impactful?
I believe I am most impactful in creating a space where families that have received concerning news regarding their pregnancy feel heard, well cared for and confident in their team.
