Student Experience

Students will be involved in the evaluation and treatment of patients in a general OB/GYN office three and a half to four days per week. The patients seen will include a wide variety of gynecologic and obstetrical patients. Procedures conducted in the office include ultrasound, IUD, and Nexplanon placement, colposcopy, cyrotherapy, and cervical LEEP's. This is a rural generalized OB/GYN practice which evaluates and treats low and high risk obstetrical and gynecologic patients.

Students will attend surgical cases in the hospital 1/2 day per week. Students will also be involved in the labor and delivery process and in the care of OB/GYN hospitalized and postoperative patients.

Students will be on call for obstetrical and gynecologic emergency patients.

Didactics

Didactic teaching will be conducted in the clinic setting primarily related to the patients being seen. There are no formal didactics or grand rounds offered at this clerkship site.

Students should anticipate joining virtual clerkship orientation at 8:30am Pacific Time on the first day of the clerkship. Link to orientation will be sent to students approximately one week prior to orientation.
