overview

During your six-week rotation with Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic students will work with providers in the outpatient clinic setting as well as the inpatient labor and delivery setting at Portneuf Medical Center providing care to pregnant and non-pregnant women. They will also participate in surgical procedures at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, ID.

This includes (but is not limited to) routine health maintenance and preventative visits, management of GYN conditions, consultations and workup of gynecological problems, prenatal care, family planning, and a wide variety of procedures.

Students will work with ISU Family Medicine Residents on the Labor and Delivery floor. They will be allowed to participate in call which can include ER visits as well as obstetric care.

orientation

Students should anticipate joining virtual clerkship orientation at 8:30am Pacific Time on the first day of the clerkship. Link to orientation will be sent to students approximately one week prior to orientation.

credentialing information

Students will be required to complete credentialing requirements online through My Clinical Exchange 6 weeks prior to beginning of the rotation. Contact Nikki Shortman at Bingham Memorial Hospital and Tanya Smith at Portneuf Medical Center for credentialing information at least 8 weeks prior to your rotation.
