Office/Clinic Experience

Experience will be varied and will include seeing general ob patients on a regular, continuous basis over the period of WRITE. The primary work will be done in Chelan with the opportunity to have the student rotate in an outlying hospital as well (Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster, WA).

Orientation

Students are encouraged to attend one of the live virtual clerkship orientations via Zoom (happen on the first day of every clinical rotation, i.e. "Summer A," "Summer B," etc. Please contact the OB/GYN Clerkship Administrator at obclerk@uw.edu for the link to attend orientation if interested and able to do so. Otherwise, students will need to watch an older, recorded version found here.

WRITE students are required to complete all requirements of this clerkship. Students will need to review this clerkship website, particularly the sections on Requried Assignments and Student Evaluation. 

Hospital Experience

Students will follow clinic patients that are admitted to the hospital.  Experiences include: typical laboring patients, complicated laboring patients referred to the local specialist, gynecologic patients needing hysterectomy tubal ligations, basic gynecologic surgeries.  

Other Learning Experiences

Students will have several impromptu lectures on various GYN topics throughout the rotation. 

Credentialing Information

Credentialing is handled by the Eastern Washington Regional Office for the entirity of the WRITE experience.
