I enjoy being outdoors, whether it is for hiking, running, road cycling or cylocross racing. My aspirations are to become at least half the person my parents were, and to positively impact any person I can.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in OB/GYN?
The inersection of medicine, research, relationships, and procedures collide in obstetrics. Every day I make a substantial impact on one or more lives, and that is personally gratifying. I find the physiology of pregnancy and pathology challenging and intellectually stimulating - and I cannot imagine a more interesting field of medicine.
What are your favorite things about living in the Seattle area?
Being able to go for a fifty mile bike ride from my front door! The beautiful outdoors has infinite opportunities to do hiking, trail running, cycling, and camping. The culture in Seattle focuses on a person's preventative health, with exercise, farmers' markets, and health care accessibility being priorities. I enjoy living in a city that tries to focus on what it's population needs.
What inspires you?
My husband Joe, books, other people's kindness.
