Biography

Personal Interests:

My personal interests include hiking, traveling, cooking, baking and spending time with loved ones (including my sweet dog Rosie).

Why did you decide to pursue a career in OB/GYN?

The first seed of inspiration to become a midwife was planted when I had the honor of attending a birth when I was 19 years old. I was awe-struck, and knew that I had witnessed something sacred and powerful. My passion for women's empowerment in health and healthcare has grown and blossomed since that first experience. I am a midwife because all women deserve care that is respectful, evidenced-based, culturally sensitive, collaborative and promoting of self-empowerment, Women are the experts of their own bodies and minds, and we as midwives have the privilege of holding space for discussion and education in order to help create individualized plans for clients to achieve health and wellness.

What inspires you?

Authentic listening, well informed shared decision making in healthcare, intersectional feminism, kindness and compassion, interdisciplinary collaboration in obstetrics, a birthing mother's strength.
